Classroom quiz: general knowledge with a buzzer
A quiz is a quick way to open a lesson, round it off or make good use of the last fifteen minutes before the bell. Buzzer Rush runs straight in the browser of a laptop, tablet or phone. Students do not need an account and nothing has to be installed.
How to use it in class
- Split the class into groups of up to five students, each with their own device.
- In each group, one student creates a private lobby and shares the code with the rest of the group.
- The host starts the match. After about ten minutes, each group has a winner.
- If you like, let the group winners play a final together.
What students learn from it
The questions cover geography, history, nature and science, language, art and culture, space and more. After every question, students see the right answer straight away. Because only the fastest player may answer, they have to read carefully and dare to choose quickly.
Good to know
Buzzer Rush is meant for players aged 13 and over. A match has up to five players, so a whole class does not play in one match. The questions are general knowledge and cannot yet be chosen per subject or year group. There are no ads, and players are only shown by a name they choose themselves.
